Starting the new year in Germany without the noise of fireworks was a new experience for me. IT was nice to spend Christmas and New year with Family, and it was painful to be thousands of miles away from my beloved :-(.

Back with my love, and off to Hawaii for more fun…

For the first time I visited Croatia, flying into Split. A beautiful old city though (as to be expected in December) rather cold. Via Ferry the trip continues to the isle of Hvar, where we got dropped off in Stari Grad. From there, it’s just a few miles to the village of Dol. Beautiful simple stone houses, olive trees, rather green.

I never visited Vienna, so it was great to finally get to see this beautiful city. Despite the cold windy weather this place indulged me with it’s architecture, culture, and flair, I will be back for more :-).

Found an out-of-the-ordinary AirB&B near Ukaih with several domes, a jurt, and a wooden hut for rent. The last 5 miles are dirt road, and when it rained it was a bit dicy, but all worked out well. Nice people running the farm, good connection with the woofers. They even have a sauna that gets fired up once a week :-).

It’s raining in Santa Barbara.

I stayed in this town with my love and her boyfriend for almost three years when this time came to a surprising and abrupt end.

I am perched in the hills over the city for days, looking down and inward, trying to get my arms around the new situation.

After about two weeks I decide to leave the area with a beautiful sunset, wavy clouds from the nearby wild fire.

After a few days warming up I am continuing towards Ukiah in northern California.
